We're all hatchin'! Congrats, everyone!

The one that pipped this morning has now zipped!!! These are all mutt eggs (5 of them), so it will be interesting to see what we get!

Mine are still moving some but I haven't heard any peeping yet. Could be just the noise level in the household is keeping me from hearing it.

I set mine the evening of the 31st, so I guess we've technically started day 20.

Last night when I got home I noticed one of the eggs was turned sideways from where I placed it. My DDs swear they didn't have anything to do with it and I would think if someone bumped the bator, more than one would have been turned. This morning the one that was turned has turned back to the position it started in, so I'm pretty sure the chick did it.

I just noticed what looks like a piece of shell in the bator under one of the eggs, but I don't see where the shell is broken. I tried to use a skewer in the vent to turn the egg, but still don't see any broken shell. Will the chick be okay if it pips the bottom of the shell instead of the top?

I JUST HEARD PEEPING!!!! While I was so busy being long winded and telling you what I hadn't heard, I just heard it.

The temp is supposed to be at 99.5F, but it can fluctuate a bit. Most try to keep it under a half a degree either way.

Lux, I don't have anything either!!! My temps are absolutely PERFECT, and my humidity hasn't gone above 70%.....The eggs are moving a tiny bit today, I was up pretty late last night staring at them. Today should be day 19 or 20, depending on how you look at it. If it's day 19 it's late day 19.....now I'm getting worried, I'm not hearing anything or seeing anything....

AAAAHHHHH!!!! I lied!!!

I have a tiny break in one shell....but no cheeps???? Should I be worried??? I thought I should be hearing cheeps before I see anything on the shell, but I only have 1 that's breaking, and it's a pretty tiny spot. It's one of my little eggs.....

how many of you are using the egg carton method?? Do you think thats why I don't see or hear any movement?? because they are in egg cartons? Is there good hatch rates this way or should I take them out and lay them down?

Lux,

I would just leave them the way they are. The last couple of days are the hardest, especially when others already have chicks out. The best thing to do is just be patient, you don't want to intercede and have something happen, that will just make you feel worse later.
