I had never heard of purple tree collards. Now I’m very intrigued. I love greens!

You should try them! I got cuttings in the mail and they grew like champs. Usually kale and greens aren't my favorite but wilted collards under scrambled eggs is my new favorite breakfast. It's also 100% from my backyard, which I think is awesome since I can't really do that for many meals!
People worry about alkaloids in Comfrey giving birds liver damage despite studies with thousands of birds only improving their health but be careful if there is indeed calcium in collards.
Extra calcium can give birds up to four months old liver damage.
Not great for roosters either but they can handle it.
That's why I don't feed my birds layer feed.
Good point! I only have a flock of laying hens so it's not an issue for my birds but it could be a problem if you have a different type of flock.
