Oooh! Thanks for the quick idea! I was trying to come up with something quick for tonight. It's the first of 4 "Christmases" this weekend. Moms, whole family (all cousins, aunts and uncles), home and then off to the in-laws.

That recipe is from http://www.mixesinajar.com/ They have so many other good ideas too!
and that is the Cowboy Cookie Mix

Have fun (and good luck!) at all your Christmas'!

Eta: no matter what the recipe says the flour goes on the bottom! Otherwise it falls through the oatmeal or whatever. Also the brown sugar wont seep into the layer below (unlike if you put white sugar on the oatmeal.) I also left out the pecans from the recipe, and they wouldn't have fit anyways!

I just received a 5 gallon bucket of shelled pecans for xmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any one have any praline syrup recipes that don't have corn syrup in them? I'm open to any other suggestions to what to do with them besides pie and cookies.

I don't have a kitchen aid and this probably won't help but... I do have a pasta maker (hand crank). It is all metal and I clamp it to my table. I got it last year for Christmas and have used it 5 or 6 times. The first three or four times I washed it. In the sink. SUBMURSED in the sink. Bad. I just took it apart last night because it was getting to hard to crank and lubed it all up with sweing machine oil. Much better. We will be making about 15 batches for gifts in the next couple days. If it has rollers, I would advise to just wipe it clean and the next time you use it, you may have run a little dough through to "clean" it.

ETA: I just went and looked them up and they are pretty much the same as what I have without the hand crank and the stand. Do not put them into water. Just wipe with a clean dish cloth.

Our "Apple peeler" says to rinse clean and use a hair dryer to dry it. Wonder if that will work with your pasta maker?

Is that all one Jelly? Just sent DD to the store to buy some Organic Cranberry juice. I added to much orange juice to the juice and now all you can taste is the orange juice. I've quite a bit of juice so I'll freeze some for another time.

Oh also what are you using for the Pomegranate juice? Fresh pomegranates or juice?

I have one and I love it once you use it you will not
know how you lived without it. Takes very few minutes mix in the mixer and then take the dough and roll out your sheets then to the cutter cut noodles .
I dry mine on a rack or cook right away.
I bought mine through a restraunt supply store. Cheapest Ive found but will last a life time and resell value is hard to beat.

Is this the one that attaches to the Kitchen Aid mixer? I want to buy one for DW but want to get the right one. I like to get the best and one that's easy to clean. How do you clean yours?

I found some at safeway when I was out of town once (we dont have a safeway less then an hour away so I dont go there much.) It had no sugar and was all pomegranate juice. I dont remember the brand but It was in a glass jar. I also know that our raleys has a few different juice isles. The artificial sweetener isle. The 'healthy' isle. and the water and flavored water, coconut water, etc isle.. I was in food max yesterday and looked for some and couldn't find any. Ended up with a bunch of strawberries for strawberry jam instead.

I bought some frozen ruhbarb and put it in the freezer but will be planting some in the spring. I have a catalog with two types in it. I also need to buy some different types of Raspberry plants to go with the types I have now. Who grows "Gooseberries" and what type have you got?

OH AND THE CATALOGS ARE COMING, THE CATALOGS ARE COMING!

Yes, all one jelly. I actually cheated and just used juice. It's by Ocean Spray. I used 4 cups juice, 3.5 cups sugar and 2 packages of pectin. It made 6 half pints plus a little extra left to put on a piece of toast.

We brought back some Pecan oil from AL this past visit and pralines and a bag of pecans. DW used the praline on top of her Biscotti.

Reminds me I still need to make biscotti for christmas!
Also I had a really good recipe I think it was orange candied walnuts for salads. I thought they were pretty good. I cant find it but tried to look it up online. Pecans would probably work I guess. It was a stovetop recipe and you glazed them first in an orange juice glaze then added some sugar (cinnamon sugar?) at the very end to give it a crystally coating. My computer is tempermental and wont let me look at the recipe I think it might be, but try this..!? Food Network- Candied Walnut Butter Salad .. Gah totally off topic! hah

Which ones did you want? The cookies and brownies or the spaghetti sauce?
