What are you canning now?

I need to can more black beans. We go through them so fast!

And this is not strictly canning, but I'm making our yearly batch of apple pie "moonshine" today so it will be ready to drink once the weather cools off.

So, what is this apple pie "moonshine"? A friend, who is now several hours away, mentioned it in a post elsewhere this spring.

I wish I had some apples so I can make sone apple butter.

If you have room to plant 3-4 varieties, you'll be harvesting in just a few years. Standards take longer; semi-dwarf are sooner.

It's really, really easy to make. It's apple cider, grain alcohol, and spices. The trick is to let it sit for a few weeks to "mellow". This is our favorite fall "adult" beverage. It's like drinking Autumn! The exact recipe is on my blog http://wifemeetslife.com just look in the archives or type "moonshine" into the search. Pinterest also has recipes for it (mine included).
