I sell eggs at my office - I ordered these custom labels from Vistaprint, and bought a case of recycled plain cartons from eggcartons.com. View attachment 1513050

Our original group that are now 6 months old consisted of:

3 Buff Orpingtons (2 were girls & 1 turned out to be a boy who got regimes due to aggression)

2 Silver Laced Wyandottes

5 Easter Eggers

1 Black Sexlink

1 Gold Sexlink

Then we adopted a 1 year old Favaucana from a family in town because she was too loud for their neighborhood.

And then we added 2 little silkies and a Buff Brahma. One of the silkies just decided to be a boy. These are for my daughter’s 4-H project. I think they around 2 months old or so.

The latest edition to the chickens are a 1 year old Black Copper Marans, 2 Black Copper Marans pullets around 3-4 months old and. Light Brahma around 3-4 months old.

So we are up to 19 in various coops. Darn chicken math.....

Next year I want some Salmon Faverolles and some Ameraucanas.

How do you like your favaucana? I have always wanted one (or two, three...)
I may try to hatch some, I have an Ameraucana roo and three salmon faverolles - with my luck, I would wind up with more roosters!

She is a sweet girl but LOUD! She talks nonstop. Of course a few of our EE girls talk a lot too so maybe it has to do with the Ameraucana heritage? She is by far the loudest though. She is a beautiful color and her eggs are a soft sage green color which is equally pretty. She consistently lays 5-6 large eggs a week.

It's funny you say she's loud! My Ameraucanas are crazy loud! One in particular, Kalani, she does this loud laughing noise - you can hear it from inside the house! I love my Faverolles, they are so cute, good layers - they do need a little more attention than the others, for example if someone forgets how to navigate the coop door, it will be one of my Faverolles! One Faverolle is really loud too, she was my wry neck baby, she made a full recovery and now she is super tame and comes over to get petted and loved on. Faverolle eggs aren't huge, but they lay consistently and they are a neat pinkish-tannish color. I recommend them if for nothing else but entertainment!

I think that the Salmon Faverolles are beautiful birds so if they are entertaining as well then I best get some. My husbands only stipulation on egg color was no white eggs so as long as they are some form of tan, green, blue, cream etc I am good.
