What are you reading? (or books you highly recommend)

(Books are overflowing my house. My parents' house is the same, despite the fact that they are heavy library users. Everyone is ALWAYS reading. I have a feeling I'm going to be posting on this thread a lot...)
I don't remember how many bookcases I have. Somewhere over 10 if you don't count the built in ones. And still, the kids manage to amass an average of 25 library books per week, and that's with a strict limit in place... The crazies. Hard to get any work out of them when they have their noses in a book.

Banti, I went back and edited all my recommendations - for some, I didn't know the genre, so I gave a little description. I have a weak spot for books that don't fit into categories.

I have a few entire shelves of books that can best to described as "Books about Books" or "Books about Words". I'll torture you with that later. I'm going to take a nap and then try to get some chores done...

Ooh.. Sounds interesting. :pop

By the way, I'm ashamed of you. How could you not have recommended Eats, Shoots & Leaves yet?

On a scale of 1 - 10 quacks, with 10 being "awesome", how many quacks would you give this book?
