I'm not saying to do that. Just that they're definitely wrong. Keep us posted.I'm going to wait until they are fully grown to respond to them, that way there is no "if". I mean, the chicks were only $3 each so I'm not going to textually assault them and accuse them of trying to "save their butts". I'm actually a nice, reasonable person.
I'm not a noob to chickens, just to raising a roo from a chick.
They’re wrong, though they might believe they’re right. Did they tell you why they thought your chicks were pullets?Okay the results are in! The hatchery emailed me back. Any final bets? Lol
The Steele Egger (not a polish afterall) is a rooster! One of the Swedish Flower chickens is a rooster the other is a hen. Def want to breed these 2, but they may be siblings. Is that gross? .....And finally the Lavender Orpington is a hen.!![]()
Well, the said the lavender orpington appears to be a hen and that they take longer to develop so I can send them more pics if it develops into a rooster. They also said the swedish flowers appear to be 1 rooster 1 hen. They’re wrong, though they might believe they’re right. Did they tell you why they thought your chicks were pullets?
Seeing as orpingtons develop slower, a large red comb at that age is more than enough to know he’s a cockerel. And I’m honestly not sure why they think the Swedish flowers are different genders, since they look almost identical.Well, the said the lavender orpington appears to be a hen and that they take longer to develop so I can send them more pics if it develops into a rooster. Idk the breed but based on the hackle feathers, yes it's a roo.Okay so the little Polish guy was crowing today right in front of me. He was also having a standoff with the Buff Orpington rooster and little guy won, lol.
Here are some close ups of one of the Swedish Flower chickens. Is this a spur developing? Rooster neck feathers?

Does the Lavender Orpington look like a rooster with this close up picture? I cant tell by the neck feathers if they are pointy or not.

Also, what type of chicken is this and is it a rooster too?
