What breed are these two, anyway?

I believe these two hens are "Plymouth blue rocks", which are actually sapphire gems (blue rocks aren't barred). Sapphire gems are a sex linked hybrid that lays brown eggs. Roosters are barred.

They're gorgeous whatever kind of mix they are.
I'm curious to see what color eggs they lay.

I think one lays a speckled brown and the other lays regular brown... It’s only what I think, though. Mostly because I have no idea who lays these eggs!

They aren't blue Plymouth rocks. The hatchery just made up a new name for sapphire gems. They aren't an actual breed, so the individuals look different from each other.

Agreed, Plymouth Blue Rock and sapphire gems... they're both hybrids and won't mirror each other perfectly. And they won't breed true if you breed them together.
