I'm shocked at how many people don't like silkies or frizzles. I'm guessing they don't like polish or sultans either.
My little flock is comprised of nothing but fun looking chickens - silkies, sultans, frizzles, and hopefully soon a few polish, oh and now some silver sebrights on the way.
I've heard silkies are great w/ kids and honestly with as many as I have, my last concern is egg producing. If they go broody because they see something they think they can hatch - well, that just makes them more entertaining. Any chicken that can make me laugh because she's trying to hatch produce is worth its weight in gold.
But mean chickens - YUCK!
