What breed: Egyptian Fayoumi? Iowa Blue? Easter Egger? Roadrunner?

This is the best picture for the foreseeable future, but here goes....

He is straight run from "anything Ideal Poultry has". Hatched 3/8, this picture taken today 4/23 at age 6 weeks and 4 days.

Anyone think Iowa Blue?? Any other guesses??

When he arrived (3 days old), he was a grayish chipmunk pattern with a dark V at the head, no head spot.

**ETA** actually he might have been the one with the solid reddish head and the grayish chipmunk pattern, not the V.

Yup! Mostly, they have a pea comb and beards, but they can really look like anything. I have a birchen hen myself!

He really does look like an Iowa blue, but Ideal doesn't have that or Egyptian Fayoumis. He could just be an Easter Egger with a birchen coloration.

He's definitely Birchen...and I too am not sure what breed.

Single combs can happen in EEs as they are hybrids of hybrids in most hatchery lines by now. (They always were a hybrid).

If legs are green, my best guess is EE.

Does Ideal Poultry sell Iowa Blues? I was trying to find them but couldn't.

The Iowa blues look like an offshoot of, or simply, the egyptian fayoumi, and he does fit that, since he really does remind me of a roadrunner.
