That has got to be one of the cutest Muscovy ducklings I’ve ever seen. As to gender, it looks male to me, but you can’t be 100% accurate until it gets older. It’s so sweet of you to rescue it! He is most likely crying because he is lonely and is missing you when you’re gone. Ducks are extremely social, even as ducklings, would it be possible for you to get him a friend?

Thank you. Someone told me it could be a silver appleyard.
You're a wonderful person for taking in that sweet little duckling :bow:fl
Ducks do not like to be alone so a home with other small ducklings would be nice. you could post here on BYC on your state's thread
and advertise him there.

Good luck!

Oh how sweet, looks like a muscovy. The ones you saw may have been darker colored, this one would just have more white. The good thing is that they are quiet.

Here's a free one that was posted in Naples 3 weeks ago. It might be a fully feathered duck by now but it might befriend your duckling. Since it is free it is probably already adopted but thought I'd share that with you anyway. https://fortmyers.craigslist.org/col/pet/d/naples-muscovy-duckling-free-to-good/6799725657.html

Ty. I need all the help that I can have. I wish I can stay with the baby duckling. I live in a residential area and the Homeowner's Association prohibits one to have chickens and ducks as pets.
