Thank you. Someone told me it could be a silver appleyard.
Again it is so sweet of you to rescue the little guy! I can see why someone said silver appleyard, but, although his coloring is nearly correct, his markings and solid gray bill are out of place. Here was my silver appleyard hen as a duckling:

Note that his dark markings are more chocolate than black. Also, the marking on his head is very faint. His bill color is off as well. I hope this was easy enough to understand! Keep us updated on your little Muscovy!

t.y. Beautiful duckling! You are an expert!

Hello I live in fort pierce Florida and have a rescue duckling that look similar to yoursView attachment 1695167I think mine is only about a week old but my HOA allows ducks because we are a bird sanctuary

Beautiful baby duckling you have and yes, looks similar to the one I found. I'll post a pic. so you can see how much he's grown since Feb.7 which he must have been 2-3 days old. Oh! I guess since you are a bird sanctuary your HOA allows you to have them. Lucky for them! Do you care for ducklings until you find them homes? In Miami I'm sorry to say....it's a muscovy duck hater and killer City. Not so nice to say... but true. They are poisoned, speed when they see them crossing the street and kill them for no reason at all. These poor ducks deserve much better it's not their fault at all. People put them in the streets after all. If you can help me find him a good home, I'll forever be grateful. I found him in a box on the side of a pet store. I want to help the little guy, someone to love and care for him. Not for meat, as a pet or because the need a drake. Feel bad he got to a bad start in life. I was in the right place at the right time. My email is: [email protected] TY
