What chicken breeds should I get??

Hello everyone! I am in my first year of raising chickens, but I'm loving it and have some serious chicken math. I keep getting a couple new chicks every once in a while and I want to get a more substantial number (5-10) next time I buy. I've been getting chicks from Orscheln's, Murray McMurray, Meyer Hatchery, and a local hatchery (Heartland). I was wondering what chickens y'all would recommend me getting next! I currently have a bantam cochin, a barred rock, a blue copper maran, a brown leghorn, a buff orpington, a production red, and a silver laced wyandotte (7 in total). What breeds should I get next? I only have one bantam, so I want to get more but I can't find a hatchery that will sex them! Also, my chickens are pets with benefits, so I'm not interested in meat birds. Thanks!!!!!

I love the speckled Sussex breed, not only are the great layers but they have wonderful personality and are beautifully colored and friendly. My friendliest bird is a speckled Sussex and she’s like a dog when you go to pick her up and she doesn’t move away from your hands and she’s so sweet and always lets me know when she wants a treat. She also has learned that the sound of a trash can lid opening means food, so like most chicken breeds she’s very smart! She has also always found a way to alert me when something is wrong. When we were on vacation and my dad was taking care of the girls, they ran out of food (not his fault) and she flew out of the run and ran to the back door to tell him. When we lost 8 of our girls to predators (strangely nothing was caught on camera but it was not Ariel predators) she flew out and cane to the backdoor to alert us. She did get sick recently because of a calcium deficiency and had a series of soft shelled eggs break inside of her. However she Made a full recovery and is back at it, at the top of their little pecking order! I just love this breed for so many reasons and I really don’t think you can go wrong with them, they’re so sweet and beautiful (friendly comes with a bit of work though, but they are very docile and kind of friendly already

Our Sussex is still going strong at 6 y.o. Love her to pieces! Great breed.

Aww! She sounds so sweet! My BO is the same way! I’d love to add another little pet to my flock. Definitely considering speckled Sussex now! ❤️
 
I currently have 6 (B.Orp...SL Wyn...BRock...and EE) my favorites are the Easter Eggers. Great friendly personality. They all have cute little ear muffs, and all very unique colors. They are easy to find. Most feed mills or Tractor Supply will be able to get them for you.
