What did you do in the garden today?

Currently sitting at the hospital with my daughter and son in law waiting for my daughter to have her baby.
Too hot out today to do anything other than water the garden, refresh the chicken waterers and give the rabbits frozen water bottles. Oh and I turned off the heat lamp for the Cornish Cross chicks because it’s too hot to have a heat lamp on 😳
My cherry tomato plants are being overrun with aphids. 😞

Over the years I have tried quite a few different heirlooms. So far Black Krim is DH and my fav! I only have a couple on the counter now. They will not be wasted! I also have lots of jars canned!
It has a certain twang to it we love.
That one has been on my radar to try. Next year, for sure!

Three new ones. I'm out of white filament so I'm making a trip to microcenter today. On the way back I'll be stopping at Bachmanns for a few new pairs of gardening gloves, paludarium moss substrate ingredients and oh you know... probably a plant. Last time i went to Bachmanns, I came back with a plant without knowing its care requirements and now i have two golden baby tears terrariums.

I'll be painting Mariposa Skies, Twist of Sheree and Mother Earth on these today.

If we are allowed to share legal cannabis I can post my two plants?
I don’t know for sure, but since this is a family site with kids around I would say probably not a good idea. Even though it’s legal.

Hope all goes well Karen!!

Hope you feel better soon.

I’ve made zucchini bread, what’s the cake? Would you share a recipe?
Sure, this is the one I use, but we don't eat flour or sugar so it's probably not anything you'd want: https://alldayidreamaboutfood.com/#search/q=zucchini bars
I think @Acre4Me has made quite a bit of zucchini cake this summer, maybe she'll share!

I grow (to make cream, not to smoke) but I don't share about it here. I think it's probably because it was illegal & there is a stigma still about it, but I feel odd posting anything about it online.
I have tomato plants that are calling it quits, so I'm cleaning up a bit in the garden. Also weeding and making it look pretty. Wow, the grass grew when I was busy with other things. Pulling it out is like dusting off a glass lamp fixture and finding out what color it is again.
I love gardening & I love the fall clean up. While a bit sad, there is just something so satisfying about it!
The first print came out great, now to do a whole bunch more. View attachment 3615152View attachment 3615153View attachment 3615154
How pretty!
OK, who wants some comic relief?

DH and I are away on vacation. While we are gone, our 2 youngest kids are watching our house and taking care of the animals. This morning my daughter found a rat snake hiding in the duck coop.

Hilarity ensues... PLEASE BE AWARE THIS VIDEO HAS SOME FOUL LANGUAGE!

Note - my son doesn't talk like this normally... 😂

I was dying. He says, 'you want me to shoot it?' after he's saved its life. :lau

Ohhh, how exciting! Hope all went well. ❤️

Yes, especially when what you're pulling up is bedraggled, dying/dead plants. Afterward, it looks neat and clean again.

It also signals to me the end of the big thing on my to do list. I have time for other things I enjoy after the garden is done.
