What did you do in the garden today?

I picked the large, lower leaves from my kale plants, and got quite a handful. Washed it, trimmed off the stem ends and stuffed the leaves into a gallon ziplock. It keeps really well in the fridge in the baggy.

I chopped up all the kale trimmings and cooked them in a greasy skillet with salt, pepper, red pepper flakes and a touch of sugar. With 3 eggs on the side it was a great lunch!

I think this is a golden oyster mushroom.

I used to have a raised bed here.

They've been bolstered with rocks since I put them in. We've had some gully washers in the 29 years we've been here, but nothing like this one on April 5th:

I'm standing on the porch at the house. Those long skinny islands are my raised beds.

:clap Sometimes you catch fish, sometimes you don't, but it's never a waste of time! Hope you have better luck next week
Sunfish should be spawning soon here. Cooler weather has postponed it. Another month for your area. I will be up north then. Turtle racing capital. Cass county.
Are you going to eat it?
I think so. A little past prime.
