What did you do in the garden today?

@Acre4Me @SarahLadd Impressive tomatoes! I have a few ripening up, large cherry, Black Krim and something else I can't remember right now. The biggest of those is only 3 inches in diameter.

I watered the entire garden and saw a jumbo zucchini squash I have to pick, plus a couple buttercup (I think) summer squash. I'm going to let the tomatoes fully ripen on the vine, hoping the birds don't peck them.

Is anyone here familiar with digging and replanting crocosmia corms? I have a huge clump of it, and want to dig out half of it to replant somewhere. I think it's supposed to be done in the fall or early spring, and you use the largest corms (whatever those are) to plant. I guess the smaller corms don't grow as vigorously.

This is the crosmia clump...

I Though I don't think the strawberries will survive the winter in them here. 🤔
If you were to find someone willing to move the strawberry levels to your garage (if you have a garage), that would probably protect them
Same here. I have no basement, our water table is too high. I always struggle finding places for my canned goods & for preserving the harvest of squash, onions, garlic, etc.
No basement for me, either. 😞 In fact - we just had most of my garage transformed into a glass studio, for me. 😊 One of the spare rooms we will gain because of this, will become a pantry.
My nieces wedding was last night, the weather was absolutely beautiful. I need to pick some beans & tomatoes but I'm in too much pain from last night. I wanted to make a zucchini cake too, but not sure that will happen.
Congratulations to your niece! Feel better, Sueby :hugs

If we are allowed to share legal cannabis I can post my two plants?

Well, cannabis possession and growing for recreational use is now legal in Minnesota. I don't think you would get in any trouble posting your pictures, unless there is still some prohibition on the BYC forums.

I'm going to freeze a bunch this year. I haven't done it before, but I didn't know about frittatas back then either!

This is my first year freezing tomatoes as well. It does not get much easier than freezing some cherry tomatoes. I think I have 5 or 6 quart baggies full of tomatoes, and another 2 batches ready to freeze. I still have lots of cherry tomatoes out in the garden but freezing them as I pick them means no waste this year! Eating lots of fresh tomatoes, too, of course. Really a successful year for me. Lots to be thankful for with the garden.

I have tomato plants that are calling it quits, so I'm cleaning up a bit in the garden. Also weeding and making it look pretty. Wow, the grass grew when I was busy with other things. Pulling it out is like dusting off a glass lamp fixture and finding out what color it is again.
