What did you do with your flock today?

When I went to put my three chicks to bed, I heard no peeps anywhere even after calling them. After cleaning everything for them today I was devastated that maybe the latch wasn’t fastened on the gate and they got out. My husband got the flashlight and we looked inside the coop...there they were, all snuggled in by themselves. Such good little girls -they put themselves to bed! It’s amazing how much you care for them after three months.

I should be getting stuff done, but I’m wasting time watching chicken & butterfly tv. Sooo much nicer than being stuck inside, cleaning the garage.

Yesterday was decent, but today is cooler and rainy. :(
The ducks don’t mind the rain, the chicks will come out for treats.
I’ve been hatching chicks for the past few days, so yesterday, today, and tomorrow are sell days! :D
Past couple days photo bomb :gig

Lovely photos!
Today we introduce our ‘free range’ girls to their new pen, because of lockdown here in the uk we have been in the garden every day with the girls since we collected then 10 days ago, now we look to weaning them off our constant attention and see what they think to their’fox proof’ pen,

Ive been a busy Mama today. I've pressure washed and sweeped out my Coop. and allowed everything to dry. I reloaded all the pine shavings for another mos. -Before cleaning out again. I checked my flock of 6 hens that just began to lay for mites. We built a 12x25 foot outside run for them yesterday. (My Mothers day present I wanted) No more free range. (To hard to keep my GSD in check). Sat out under an umbrella in the run and took video of them Dusting, rolling and having a good time. I ate watermelon and shared with them. I think thats enough for me in one day.
My husband just corrected my measurements of my new outside chicken run dimensions. Its 14x 50 ft.
I stand corrected! Lol.
Anyway, its a lot of room for 6 hens. But now, I dont have to constantly watch my GSD when shes outside snooping around, chasing "Squittles" on our 3 acres. I had to already train her to stay OUT of the Pond!!! Uggg. A wet & stinky long hair King Shepard is absolutely terrible when shes an inside dog. Ugg
No I do not have ducks....yet. i was advised not to because of the poop in the pond water. I just had the pond water treated for water plants that were trying to take over.
