26 silkie hens (various colors & all are gorgeous)
2 white silkie roosters
7 silkie chicks
8 polish frizzle chicks (new additions to my flock)
3 Wyandotte hens
3 peacocks (2 girls & 1 boy)
4 pairs of English Trumpeteer Pigeons
1 pair of fantail Pigeons

I have them just for fun. Most of the chicken eggs go to family & the local food pantry.

What do you think of your Dominiques?

We have 8 pullets

1- Silver Laced Wyandotte
1- Golden Laced Wyandotte
2- EEs
2- Dominiques
1- Golden Sex Link

Why do we have chickens? We bought a house with a coop, are trying to eat locally and love critters.... so why not?

I have -

1 partridge rock (probably, she was a mystery bird)
4 GLW (two will be leaving next weekend to go to their new home)
2 SLW bantams - one is a roo
1 polish crested - black with white crest
2 EEs
3 salmon faverolles
7 BO - one is a roo, two of the girls are sold - just waiting for the $
5 BR - two of these are sold too, waiting on $
2 polish crested - golden laced
2 silkies

I originally got the first couple for eggs, but obviously I'm going to have way more eggs than I'll need when they start laying in a couple months.

Now I use them for punishment for my boys - there's always plenty of manual labor around when they've been naughty!

We have:

4 black australorps
1 Salmon Favorelle
2 WCB polish
4 EE chicks
1 Splash silkie chick
1 white leghorn roo

I have 'em just for the entertainment & eggs (well, the hens anyway!!

They also make great pets, and what farm is a farm without chickens?!!
