What do you name your chicken(s)?...

I Have 7 birds all together, their names are:

Mrs. B....formerly Brewster...thought she was a roo - Silver Phoneix
Shelby - EE hen
Peaches - EE hen
Sophie - White Cochin
Smokey - Blue Cochin
Dottie - Speckled Sussex

And of course, Murphy - EE roo with a nasty case of cross beak.....Murphy's Law, LOL!

Of course - what started out as "Hey Honey/Mom - we want chickens..can we get them?" and me saying "uhm... well... I really dont want any chickens - if you get them YOU (DH, DS and DD) must agree to take care of them." with an overly excited "YES WE WILL - WE PROMISE!" quickly turned into....

ME taking care of all 6 birds - DS running like mad scared when they got bigger and running AT him because they think he has food

, DH saying "oh..any eggs today?" and sometimes having something to do with them.... and DD.. well.. she helps me the most out of the lot of the 3.

Didnt I say I didnt want chickens to begin with?

Hmmm... Now they all come to ME and everyone else wonders why

Although my daughter is naming her DUccle after a JAG character. Colonel Sarah McKenzie. She is going to go by "Mac"
My S Sussex will be Sophia(Loren) and the other DUccle will be Katherine(Hepburn)

If it were up to my dh they would be named after food.

Gulla, lille gull, Camilla.

Others Lucifer , Kaia, Edward, Lemmy(motorhead), smurfen (smurf),
Myrull (its a plant that look almost like cotton ).

I like to use sets of names like:

Britney Paris and Nicole (they were my trio that stuck together)

Peter, Mary, Tinkerbell, and Wendy (Peter pan movie (they are like watching a cartoon) D'uccles

Steele and Addison (known as a very strong couple) Giant Cochins

Krista and Alexandra (best friends forever they say)

It's pretty fun looking for sets of names and so far they all seem to fit the chickens
