Yes, I have a headache from seeing that. It's frustrating. I'm ready to give up.

Many people who use Firefox or Chrome, the latest versions, even IE if it is 9, say it's not that slow. I use FF9 and have lag times (waits) of 2-3 seconds at most. Compare this to the minimum of 2-3 seconds it always took to post a reply on the old platform, at least for me -- and that was when it was working right. And we all know there were days it wasn't working so well, with waits in minutes or more, and just plain shutdowns where no one could even get on the forum. The bottom line is, the old platform would no longer support the size of BYC. It had to go. Also, remember that performance is one of the top issues being addressed -- actually I think the top issue. It will get better, not worse, and the old platform could do nothing but get worse.

Not arguing with you, but I NEVER had waits on old BYC that you speak of..... minutes or more... never did, and I post plenty. It is unfortunate that the BYC members we have on Dial-Up simply will not be able to use this platform much at all.... Just sayin'.....

Wow...I am not seeing any ads or having any lag time whatsoever. The only thing is NO AUCTIONS!!! AHHH!!! LOL. Hope they are back up soon as I need more eggies!
Oh and I have firefox....no probs at all.

I agree. I don't understand why the member pages are gone. I really enjoyed viewing everyone's member page. It told you a lot about that person. It was a "friendly" feature. The new site doesn't seem friendly and inviting.

Makes me sad.

I also see no advantage to being a Platinum Poultry Member anymore.

Gavin, I have no idea. I think it must be a glitch since I can see all the sections in BST and create ads in them myself. That is something for the tech folks, I suppose. Really, I am as lost as some of you are on part of this stuff. As you can imagine, there will be glitches to work out.


The BST sections should all be there and up and running so please be patient while whoever is able to fix them does so.



Grabbing and loading smilies off the web, etc, it not taking me long at all. I'm on Firefox 9 as a browser and on DSL-mine is probably one of the slowest DSLs available.

I like the layout, I think the home page is too busy, The right side needs to be cleaned up some.

I love the color scheme and all the new features in the posting a reply or new topic. I actually like the way the new ads appear. In the old application there was not enough in the ad department. Sorry but this site needs ads to run and I like seeing new products and places where I can obtain things I need. I am an online shopper.

I am not having any issues with slow posting for searching. I am using the latest version of IE but I do use Firefox at times too so I'll let ya know how that goes.

I have not tried the site on my smart phone or my Ipad, Do we have an app yet? I haven't checked any of that out yet. I hope I can post pics on the forum and in posts from my mobile devices.

I noticed a few people commenting on the "Private" threads in the forum (see above). I don't think they're actually private in the sense that viewing is restricted, I think it just means that posting isn't open in them. Can anyone confirm that that's correct? I'm definitely able to view them.

I am confused as heck. But that is not hard to do to me. It will take me awhile to adjust but I love the layout. And I will love it when I finally figure it out. You all did a great job. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into it.
