What do you think of the new BYC platform?

If the BYC would have kept the SAME format layout, it was simple (remember that quote "Keep it simple, Stupid!"?) and easy on the eyes.

As I understand it, that was not an option. I'm no geek, but I think I've got this much right.

i think its kinda funny how the BYC team put in all this effort in to make BYC a better place and everyones jumping ship on day 1 without even giving it a chance... ohh well thinning out the herd i guess

Do you do auctions? I do. There are not the breed of eggs that I am looking to hatch in my area. I need a resource and this one just ended.

This is just so buggy, in my opinion. Besides that, it is toooooooo difficult. Bigger is NOT better, in this case..... IN MY OPINION..............

This has been fixed. It had nothing to do with the platform and was in fact a mistake that I made in moving another post. I apologize for the confusion.

So far it has taken me 20 minutes to log in, and just responding to this post took way too long (three clicks just to respond). I understand there is a learning system in place but I was not expecting such a BIG change nor the ease of the threads to go away. I am also surprised at how small the type is on the site.

I put in the poll that I am disliking the "new improved". If the ease of the site inproves over time and use perhaps I will like it more, if not I am joining the hating side of the fence. Here is crossing my fingerrs for the best....

I do think its sad that we have resorted to nit-picking and insulting the people who run this place. theyre doing the best they can to support all of the members.
even if people are inactive they ARE members and there isnt anything anyone can do about it. An upgrade was needed to support the copious amount of activity that does take place everyday.

im really surprised and disappointed how some people who have been around for ages and love this COMMUNITY are being so nasty about the change. i mean, isnt it more about the COMMUNITY and less about the website? it is to me. The last website was very flawed but we got used to those flaws and regarded them as the norm and loved the site anyway. Give this a chance and within the next year i bet it will be exactly the same.

in my opinion threatening to leave the site isnt going to get you your way... If its that blinding (this new mysterious bright white light that people are complaining about ) than maybe for the health of your eyes you should seek another online community... I think people are nit picking and not being realistic about glitches that are still being worked out.

It is not a "new mysterious" bright white. Compare the main forum and sub forums pages to BackYardHerds and Chicken Crossing and honestly try to tell me that they're not easier on the eyes. BYC did NOT look this bright before. As I've said, the actual posts are fine but everything else is irksome.

"Nitpicking"? They are asking us our opinions, not everybody's is going to be the same as we're, you know HUMAN BEINGS and not robots. I'm frustrated because every web site I seem to be going to lately is "changing" and it has more to do with money than anything else. Youtube is a prime example of that. Features are being taken away from "regular" members that they had before and now you have to pay to be upgraded to a higher membership just to be able to use features that were so simple before.

I don't appreciate your attitude. Maybe when you get a condition where you're more prone to headaches you might understand a little better. My user experience shouldn't have to be compromised in the name of needless change. Change isn't always a good thing, darling.
