I bought this dog house: http://www.petco.com/product/107694..._-WARE Premium Plus A-Frame Dog Houses-107694 It is size medium and I do wish that I had bought large. Anyhow, I have 4 chicks right now. The average weight is supposed to be around five pounds. How could I make a chicken coop from this dog house? Any runs that I can make to attach to this? Oh and what do you think of me using this dog house? How should I ventilate it better? Any suggestions are appreciated!![IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

You could create a simple enclosed run and put this inside. You can also purchase a used dog kennel (the big chain link kind) and put a top of chicken wire on it and put the dog house inside with hay. If you want to lock the girls in at night you can create a simple door with a latch using wood and hardware cloth. A lot of folks use dog houses for chickens.

Be sure to put a good coat of paint on it! Ware doesn't make the most study products. Cut some vents in the front and back near the peak.
