What does a duck do when its best friend since birth dies? I am expecting to lose one of my two girls any time now from what I am guessing is a busted egg inside of her. She is looking horribly sick.

No grooming
Not eating, barely drinking, droopy bottom, falls back on her butt, lays down all the time, no energy, not pooping, yolk pours out of her bottom and I give her warm massaging baths and yolk pours out but shes not getting any better.

Will my healthy duck die from depression? What should I do once it happens? I hope she gets better but its not looking too good so far. Two days this has been going on.

It sounds pretty bad..Can you humanely Cull her?...
The other one will need a friend so it's always best to have three so in these situations no one ever is alone.

I wouldn't know what to do to do it. I have 5 baby 5 day old ducklings but I think they are too young right now.

Do you know anyone with a gun to shoot her in the head?..It sounds bad and I apologize..My Son Culls my Birds that way and it's quick and painless..

Even a local vet will put down a sick animal even though they don't practice that specific species....They will charge though...

Aw how awful... I'm sorry..
I do agree... culling would be the kindest thing for you to do for her/him... Though I hate all death.. it sounds necessary.. But. Miracles can happen! She could get better.. with the correct treatment. I hope someone can help you best wishes..

I guess tonight I will decide what I will do. She is resting now but I will probably have to make the vet do it. I can't.
