There are still pet stores that sell dogs in the US?! I thought that was banned.
Some pet stores "host" pups and kittens thru shelters, idk if that's the situation in this case.
This store sources their pups from AKC registered professional breeders who also have certificates for being humane, so whether or not any of their breeders have a puppy mill situation going on, I do not know. They have pure breeds cycling out, as well as some "designer" mixes like Pomskies. They have a Sheltie there, which we had asked about for price out of sheer, plain curiosity, and it was 3K. That included a well assorted starter supply kit, free training classes, all necessary shots and spay/neuter, and health warranties.Unfortunately they do still exist. Yea, some host through shelters/rescues but there ARE still puppy mill ones too

Back in Ohio our local pet store would occasionally have shelter kitties staying there, and I think sometimes puppies.
Honestly AKC means nothing though. They need actual proof the dogs are healthy(all ofas generations back, plus a genetic panel)This store sources their pups from AKC registered professional breeders who also have certificates for being humane, so whether or not any of their breeders have a puppy mill situation going on, I do not know. Do you let him win when playing tug?Okay, need help.
This pup is loosing interest in all his toys and playing and whatnot, and he has five different ones, three of which are for him to play with on his own and two to play with a person. He'll play for a minute or two, then just start ignoring it. He'll play for a little longer if I switch out the toy (this includes trying to entice him with an "alone" toy), but he will either just want to sniff around and potentially get into trouble, or completely ignore whatever toy or game I'm actively trying to engage in with him (from a standing position) and just try to hump my leg. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Two of those toys are new since yesterday. What to do?? He has also lost interest in sleeping near me, though he definitely wants contact. He sometimes seems to want to play with me, but not with his toys with me. He was fairly content outside munching sticks but I can't be out there all the time and I don't want to leave him alone in the outside dog run for a few different reasons.
Yep, I do. Mixed in with me winning sometimes, and also asking him to calm and drop it, which he gets rewarded for with pets and more play.Do you let him win when playing tug?

Do you think maybe he is losing interest because of not winning enough?Yep, I do. Mixed in with me winning sometimes, and also asking him to calm and drop it, which he gets rewarded for with pets and more play.
How often are you trying to play?Yep, I do. Mixed in with me winning sometimes, and also asking him to calm and drop it, which he gets rewarded for with pets and more play.
