What Dog Breed Do You Want Today!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Pics
My chihuahua pooped inside for the first couple months we had him. Eventually I learned to recognize the signs (sniffing around a lot mostly), so I'd just follow him around as he explored the house, and when I noticed him doing his "I'm 'bout to poop" routine, I'd say "let's go potty outside!", take him out, and then give him LOTS of praise when he went 😊

I have seriously considered this breed before, but I am put off by their short life span (what has been your experience?) and that I have heard they can be aggressive, but don't like to think of certain breeds as "aggressive"
Are you asking if Leonberger's are aggressive? I've had large breeds for many, many years. My experience is 13 is the longest that they live with the right diet. I had a 10year old Newfie that was really showing mobility issues until I started to feed him differently and he truly got a new lease on life. But 13 is a best case scenario. I've also lost a Leo at 7 to hemangiosarcoma. Leonberger's are truly not aggressive, it's not even remotely part of the breeds characteristics.

I have heard of them being aggressive. Never quite took it seriously but kept it in mind. A lot of breeds are "aggressive" like pitbulls, but that doesn't mean they all are, or even most of them are. How many have you had? Seven is so young😕

I agree that any breed tendency doesn't mean it's a sure thing. A well trained dog can overcome all of those stereo type's. But I do have to say that it's the first time I've heard Leo's called aggressive. Maybe it's another breed that look's like a Leo? Like a Tibetan Mastiff or Caucasian... ?

Leonbergers can get bigger than Newfies😅.
I want one of both
I've always had both. The biggest difference is drooling. Leo's don't drool. My biggest Newfie, a Landseer, was 160. Leo bodies are more like Wolves with big bones but taller than Newfies. They share the hallmark sweetness of gentle giants. Great with kids. Leo's have a bit more energy but super high. :love

Funny, it was for sure leos. I don’t think I’ll ever get one just because I want high workability and drive (would you say they are?)

Aww!
I dont mind drool, but i dont like a lot. So a leo would definitely be better. And im sure they dont have more energy than Tucker(he could run all day)

Where did you hear it out of curiosity? Like who said it? Because that’s the first time I’ve ever heard that too. Maybe they’ve only met BYB ones or something? But then then, they shouldn’t be. I’ve always heard they have a Golden like temperament almost. Never aggressive.

I truly couldn’t tell you. But it seems now that it was a very bad source😁 It was many years ago when I was looking into many breeds, before I had decided on the one I liked.
