My heart wants another Aussie, but my aching back says something smaller like a rat terrier. I just gave one of my 40 pound bulldog mixes a bath which reminded me I probably should go smaller.

Today we are happy with our Belgian Malinois.

25 months ago, we brought her home, she was almost 6 months old. My husband had been looking at them online, which of course, I noticed, and I told him, just get one. He said we would wait until our cat, Maine Coon, died. I let him know that she was very healthy and could live several more years (she was 11.75 yrs at the time) and if we waited much longer, we would not be able to keep up with the dog (we are about 67). She is VERY active, like a Jack Russel on steroids, and more. What a joy. After 2 months, the cat, Bolero (for Ravel and Jeff Beck) went back to being the Queen. We should have named her Sassy.

I'm not convinced they are all purebred. The smaller they get the more risk they are either mixes or poorly bred. I've been spoiled by owning the big clowns. Red tri are my absolute favorite. You are definitely tempting me with that photo.

Maybe we should be protected by God in playing with her. I sprained my ankle last year as she ran head on into me. Let's Play!
