He’s so playful and happy go lucky and kind of oblivious hahahaha

My Mom is currently in the throes of puppy training. At 85, no one would let her adopt, which is crazy! She's super capable and active -runs her area's Meals on Wheels, president of a huge Garden Club, all sorts of active-mind, active-body stuff ... but all the shelters and rescues see is her date-of-birth! Even that shouldn't present a problem. My grandparents were mindful and active right up until their deaths ... at 97 and 99+!I have 6 female dogs. It would be near impossible to add an adult. Puppies I know how to raise and introduce to my pack. Adults aren't my thing. I prefer knowing how my dogs are raised. I admire those who are willing to take on an adult. I cannot, plus no one would adopt to us anyways. Too many rules and restrictions. I don't add to the pet overpopulation. I responsibly own from beginning to end.
Hopefully she picked an easy going breed or mix of breeds. Puppy shenanigans at 85 years old still isn't easy. I like my bulldog mixes. There isn't a lot of shenanigans, and they sleep through the night, and don't mind sleeping late. They are my kind of dogs.My Mom is currently in the throes of puppy training. If the worst should happen and she had to give him up, the puppy she had to pay WAY too much money for is likely to cause a family feud. EVERYBODY would want him!

I've always like short snouts. Back in the late 80's I worked at a boarding kennel. Owners also showed, and owned various breeds of dogs. One was French bulldogs. There were three of them. Just as happy and funny as could be. I fell in love with them back than. Wasn't until 11 years ago that I decided to get my dream dog. I couldn't find nor afford a pure Frenchie at at times. I came across an ad for Boston frenchie mixes, and that was it. We adore them. We have 4. Each with varying degrees of each breed. They play, and they have an off switch. I in general like pushy breeds, so they fit in with our boxer and aussie.I’m still “young”, and even I’m scrambling to keep up with my new pup! Wouldn’t change things for the entire world, though. What drew you to bulldog mixes? I chose toy poodle for the fur, very enjoyable to brush and style so, and, of course, the close companionship of being able to carry her everywhere.

I thought about another poodle. My first dog ever was a miniature poodle. I'm not sure if I want to keep up with the coat care. I used to groom dogs, so I'm familiar with it all, and still have all my equipment. Nothing better looking than a well groomed poodle.
I try to get breeds that are active and playful their whole lives. It's what originally drew me to boxers. They stay playful their whole life. Even today Rosie chased me on my bike for a bit in that goofy galloping that boxers do. She so tired these days at 13 years old, but a few times a day she cuts loose still. It's adorable when she does.I used to think Brew was part Malinois or GSP or something he had so much energy and drivebut now he’s chilled out A LOT and is happy to sleep all day and sleep in until I get up
and even then, he’s still in bed half the time when I get up.
he’s happy with just a couple walks a day now. He used to play with other dogs for hours and hike for hours etc. etc.
Awwwww that’s awesome. The funny thing is he can be active and playful when he wants to be and he’s still very sassy and talkative and grabs toys all the time LOL and tried to play with two separate dogs on two walks recently, in the street, on leash, LOL so yeah, he’s definitely still playful! No worries there! And active too. He COULD play for hours or hike for hours if I had a car again and took him but I don’t so we don’t so yeah. No worries there either. He just chooses to sleep because I’m boring and we’ve settled into a routine where he needs to LOL but he does go outside during the day if my family is home and it’s not raining lolI try to get breeds that are active and playful their whole lives.
