What Dog Breed Do You Want Today!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I get an odd satisfaction with seeing any dog beat a malinois. Especially a Doberman😜
This picture makes me especially happy😃

A border collie is still kind of a want…I saw one in the park a few days ago catching a frisbee, he was gorgeous. Idk if I want to deal with the energy though…
Border Collies are amazing dogs ... but behind every impressive "I-want-one-of-those" BC's is a boatload of time and training and a total commitment to keeping them busy. So many end up getting turned in because they don't magically become the perfect companion. Even BC mixes can be a challenge. I've learned that little detail first-hand - I'm working with my third. Luckily, part of his "mix" is Newfie, so there's a lot of "couch-potato" in him!

I've had one border collie. She was wicked smart, and so active. We were younger and we had a dairy farm, so she got to work. When not working she ran the goat fence and obsessively shoved a tennis ball into our hands. We threw it, and use a tennis racket. She kept going and going. She was a lot of fun, but also a lot of activity.

@MROO do you like Dobermans??
I LOVE Dobies, but I'm partial to the "old-fashioned" standard, where they had wider heads and blockier muzzles. I think they were calmer & smarter. I feel the same about the "Old World" style Collies - I really don't like the borzoi-style heads they've had for years. I'm glad to see the breed moving back to the more traditional standard!

There are so many awesome people on BYC🥹🥹🥹🥹 everything older is better when it comes to dogs🙄 people need to leave breeds alone and breed for health and temperament not making new, “better”, “prettier” dogs

We had to use a tennis racket to hit the ball with my childhood dog too LOL he was a yellow Lab though that we got at like 18 months old. SO wild at first LOL but eventually he was great.

My current dog is a rescue (ALL my dogs are rescues!) who has absolutely NO clue what to do with a toy. You can literally bounce a ball off of his head or chest and he just sits down and looks at you with a confused expression. He's VERY smart. He figures out puzzles and how to open doors (and how to ferret a cat out of its' hiding place) in no time flat ... but toys? "What am I supposed to do with this tug-toy, stuffie, crinkler once I take it from your hand?" :he
