My present dog I got as a puppy, the dogs before were rescues , I got them when they were 3 years old, I didn’t want the hassle of puppy, I never got all the people wanting a (cute) puppy, I said, they are not housebroken , chew everything up, take ages to train, my one requirement was that they must be child friendly, since I have 4 ( now grown up) kids, I said I can train the rest, but I need my children ( who were always taught to be respectful to a dog!) to be safe. I remember another story about my doberman, we were visiting friends, and their son stepped on her tail, I said, don’t do that, it hurts her, when he thought I wasn’t looking, he did it again I removed the dog, for both of their safety, my children would never have done stuff like that! And hooray for the „dangerous“ dog, who let a child step in his tail 2 times without doing anything!!!
