Oh my goodness guys, I can’t begin to tell you all how much I appreciate the input/feedback you all have given thus far. In fact, I’ve not been able to catch up on all of the replies that have been received. I was able to peek my head in around 11am on Monday but sadly, I was bedridden pretty much non-stop since then in fact, I’m messaging you all from the bed right now (woohoo! Party on the SleepNumber!)

So I intentionally left her alone Monday because I needed to sit and think and not hurt her more than I may/May not have already done. Monday and yesterday she was completely her normal self, no signs of anything amiss other than her known bum leg. Which, yesterday/Tuesday, she started doing a little hobble on it. It’s not like she’s going to win any ducky marathons with it like the way it is but it’s still all positive progress as far as I’m concerned.

As for the devilish hole that seems to sink to the depths of the earth....

No change either way after the demon plug was removed and neosporin application on Sunday. Which, in the grand scheme of things, is a good thing that it didn’t decide to recruit other little evil minions to join the crusade, right? But, also just sad that I was hoping against logic that getting rid of the Satan spawn plug and giving a little antibiotic ointment would at least make it WANT to go away.

Nada.

I did *not* pluck feathers from it and it’s solely because I suck and am in bed and well yeah I suck. I did give her another little PT bath time today and afterwards I took a quick snap of the hole (kiddo is holding her so it’s not going to be the greatest clarity). I’ve put a little marking or two on the pics to answer what i can recall were a couple of questions (better location identification, etc) and I hope maybe the better idea of placement will help us along the way?

I’ve got an appt for her tomorrow at an exotic vet. It was in one of the messages someone had posted here and it was (thankfully) not the same vet I was unimpressed with. So that lucked out a bit; appt is at 2 and it’s about a 2 hour drive from my place but I will get her there. I think I went ahead and scheduled the appt because (and this was around 11a on Monday) I noticed someone else somewhere had said “but where’s the muscle/tissue around the hole?” Or something to that effect and it basically encapsulated my concern...

“ why does this hole have no good pink stuffs around it anywhere!? “

So i went full panic mode and said that I was at least going to have a vet look at it and tell me what in the ducky heck it was!?

I hate that she has this because like I said before, I feel bad for her not really knowing what kind of yay awesome or booo suck life she’s had prior to October and so I’m all ridiculously emotional about it. She’s not huge on humans and by no means does she do anything more than tolerate our presence (LOL) but dangit I’m snatching her up and putting her in a tote and we’re going to go see what can be determined about this hole.

Those pics it looks like it's right on her keel/breastbone... sitting down very well could've shoved more dirt/crud deeper and maybe to the sides as well? Vet is a good call, just to be safe...
