*UPDATE*

OG is staying at the vet to undergo a procedure to remove the black holes of demonic doom, clean her out, and stitch her up.

Doc says the black spots appear to be dead/dying breast muscle tissue and that the wound simply isn’t healing up (or maybe it can’t, I don’t know).

So she’s going to remove the dead spots, clean her up/check out the unseen areas once she’s opened and hopefully some stitching should be enough to send this to the finish line of healing.

No suggestion on cause of wound though she did say looking at it from the inside might be able to help.

Either way, we’re still open for snapper bite, infected feather follicles, puncture/impale wound or some small pellet-esque wound.

All I know is I don’t have the money for my damned heart LOL. She said necrotic tissue and I burst into stupid tears. I mean duck is perfectly damned fine (albeit grumpy) but I got all sensitive thinking her parts were falling off like a leper. So I paid for the procedure and *fingers crossed* I can pick her back up later today. 2 hour drive each way... I’m not certain I have the patience for that. So I’m beebopping around in City killing time.

Obviously, I will update as I get her later.

But in the meantime, here’s a picture or two of her on the ride to Indy. She was having no part of having the lid on and INSISTED on being able to see.

Y’all gonna make me cry “awww shucks” tears! I appreciate the support and I too am hoping good procedure, good healing ( I guess I should ask for any tips you guys have... I don’t want to keep her separated from her only duck buddy but I want to make sure she heals good too? Husband called to tell me that FattyPatty hasn’t stopped incessantly squawking since I scooped up OG and left.

Love the pic from outside the car. How many people would be doing a double take when they saw that.
Hope everything goes well at the vet. :fl

And yes, that outside the car pic... I just had to! I stopped to get my double fists of coffee and a guy walked out and walked back in and said “you’ve got a (Friggin) duck in your car!?” I laughed and looked and her little head was popped up like that. I told him yeah... we’re roadtripping. He says ducks are mean. I told him she’s only mean if you have shiny rings on because she wants to eat them. But it tickles and doesn’t hurt... not like geese LOL
