What is a sapphire gem?

Hi from GA! I’ve been lurking on this thread but didn’t have an account to comment until now! I recently got an 8 week old SG pullet, so I’ve been trying to find more info on the breed; there isn’t much out there so you guys have been helpful! She’s a very friendly & curious gal, I’ll attach a photo of her from last week, she’s about 10 weeks now. I’d love to see updated photos as some of your older ladies grow up, curious what the adult hens look like, and also very curious about egg color!

Have you all noticed how curious and social they are about everything. Every time I open the brooding cage mine are trying to sneak out to check me out. They love neck/chest rubs too. Mine are supposed to be all females, I do have two that do the occasional chest bump. I ordered 6 in total and all 6 are doing well at 4 weeks. I lost 2 of another breed the the first and 2nd day they were here. These saphire gems are true gems so far though.

It’s supposed to be brown.

I only have one, but she is super curious about everything! Definitely more so than the other chicks I have around her age.

It's been awhile since I posted pics of my two sapphire gems. They are 11 weeks old now...I think I last posted when they were around 8 weeks. We were thinking one was a cockerel, but it's looking like they are both pullets. Aren't they beautiful?!?!

Yep! Brown. My girls will be 16 weeks on Monday. Still waiting for that first egg! Heard one doing the egg-song yesterday but if she did lay, it was in the run, got trampled, aND then eaten. I'll never know. So still waiting!

Here are some updated pictures at 14 weeks. A lot of variation in color. Our darker ones have way bigger waddles then the rest but they sound like pullets
