What is the most creative recycled item you used in building your coop

My coop is built from recycled picket fencing that was on freecycle and some leftover privacy fencing. We also used some old windows that were left from when we replaced our windows. Heres a pic. I have painted it since this pic was taken with paint given away on freecycle

we recycled the building...used an old 3 part building on the farm that has one section of corn crib, one of storage, and one of grain bin for the coop(s). We then used all the lumber from DH's parent's porch that they remodeled. We also recycled an OOOOOLLLLLDDDD walk in cooler built of solid wood (heavy!) tongue-in-groove planking to build the nest boxes and all the other inner stuff for the coop as well as the window frames. Recycled t-posts for the run. The only new purchase was the gate and the wire. We reused waterers and feeders from the OLD chicken coop that has fallen in on itself by waiting till it was cold last winter so there werent any bugs and then climbing/digging thru the rubble. We also used old pallets to build our goat crate for going to the livestock sale on the weekends.

I've used lots of pallet toppers (the single layer pieces of word) for gates, a tractor coop, pen dividers, base for a carrying crate, etc.

And I used this plastic Turbedo sled for a duck pool.

We replied to a craigslist ad yesterday and scored a free 7'x7'x4' plywood shipping box made of 1" thick plywood. The people even delivered it to us for a mere $10 for gas. We plan on painting it with exterior paint and adding roosts, nest boxes, etc.

We were given windows out of a doublewide and used pallets for the floor frame, then laid OSB on top of the pallets. Built the coop under a leanto in the back of the property... Hubby gave me half the leanto

Oh we also use leg cups (for anyone is agriculture who has been around a grain elevator you know what they are---everyone else google it cause I dont know how to explain them!) as feeders and nest boxes.

we'd been dragging around a section of single garage door panes for 4 years -they were pretty old and had been left at the last house we bought - used it as the upper portion of our west wall where the roost would be so they could look out while they roost - also used many many pieces of used lumber and sheet goods, hardware and trim pieces... paint was bought at Walmart mis-mixed and part of the roof was a piece of fiberglass corrugated roofing we had used to construct our greenhouse side walls. The rest of the roof was reclaimed corrugated metal roofing picked up free around the county over the past 2 years. Our windows were picked up free from craigslist and we pulled the aluminum off them and reset them as double paned windows on the S and N walls. We aren't done but we have about $200 in materials for our 4x4 coop so far.... promise to post pics when we get it completed.....in answer to your question - have to say the most creative piece would be the single garage door panes (complete with crisscross metal decals on the windows to simulate an English cottage look!).

all of our coop is left over and recycled stuff, but the best was the old pool liner we used for the floor, it is really tough, you can poke it with a pitch fork and still no moisture.
