The more politically correct name is wind egg. It is an egg the size of a gumball. Looks like something they shot out when they farted.

Yes, its very true, and sad. All the people go to Random Rambling... and ramble.. I had a chicken death the other day posted an urgent question and not a single person answered. Later on I figured out it was egg bound.

Was that the post? Quite often the title needs to have a bit more information. Many people will skim a forum and need words to stand out. When a person posts "My BO has a swollen vent and won't eat" people who have experience there will stop and open it. Believe me, it isn't personal when posts go unanswered. I make it a point to go to the Raising Babies and the Behavior forums and answered 0-0 answered posts. The emergencies section, I don't know enough to be much help.

I'm very sorry your chicken died. However, I checked on the Emergencies page, and of the 26 topics on page one, 25 had at least one reply. They were all posted within the last hour, and all but one had replies.

Maybe we do babble on Random, but the other boards seem to be active as well. Maybe yours was posted at an off-hours time of day?

When I have a specific question, I use the search function.

9 times out of 10, I'll find the answer many times over.

I've noticed that too.
What's I've been doing to fix that, and to get my post count higher, is I've been using the Recent Posts link to find questions without replies and I reply to them if I can.

The purpose of such sites is to get information,Q&A,and socialising. Making ties thru conversation develops repore and respect then answers seem to come from ppl deemed respectable and knowledgable. I guess that's just the way I see it. Then again I'm a newbie hahahahaha
