Why? She already operated on the abscess. The bird is on the road to recovery.

I should let you know at this point , so that it doesn't come as a rude surprise to you at some point in the future, most vets won't work on chickens. I found out this little piece of information the hard way when I had need of a vet to work on a wounded hen. All the vets in my area refused/declined/were unable to help. The nearest avian vet was almost 1.5 hours away from me. That is how I finally stopped lurking on BYC and registered to join the group. The wonderful folks here helped me patch up my bird.

Well now,... chickn lova is a new egg and hasn't learned to read through a thread before posting,. but they will.

I have to agree with CMV about vets,. it's best to just start learning to do it all yourself,.and BYC is the one of the very best places to start,..
that being said,.. I have the most awesome vet at Banfield of all places that grew up with chickens and quail and said she will certainly Dr my chickens ,.. if I ever bring one in,..
still the cost of a vet can be so high ( IF you can find one to see your bird),.. and chickens always seems to get sick when you can't get to one,.. knowledge and a good medicine chest are the best thing for a chicken owner!
..... as ChickieBooBoo has proven!!!

I tried sending it to my email but I can only send it to another phone, am I doing this wrong? Or is the phone just not able to send emails???

if you have a memory card you can take it out of the phone and down load the pics directly from the card if your computer has a slot for it, if not, you can get one of the things that work like a zip drive, you put the card in it and plug it into a usb port, they are very cheap, I think walmart has them
