Anyone else have a tree yet?
My tree was up the day after Thanksgiving. But, we don't do cut trees and the last living tree we bought wasn't really alive. The sold it in a pot, but the roots were cut off. :rant Living trees are expensive. So, last year we bit the bullet and bought a Balsam Hill tree. I don't have the heart to watch a tree die in my living room. :oops: Here's mine.

Beautiful!

I have my tree up. We got a real tree this year. Growing and cutting the trees is more carbon-conscious than most artificial trees unless you use a plastic one for 25 years. Idk about ya'll but I've never used an artificial tree for 25 without it breaking, though I admit I've certainly used them in the past. When ours broke last year we kinda shrugged and got a real one this year. We have a small space so it was only $20. When it's done it'll go into the chicken pen.
Actually my dad has this tree from my mom;

THAT tree has lasted 25 years...! We've had it longer than I've been alive!

We also went with a balsam hill tree. Cutting our own became to big a challenge a few years back so we pushed the easy button. That said, the state foresty nursery sells fingerling trees to reforest after logging. A part of our land had been logged before we bought it. So our kids planted about 100 various Xmas trees so in 10 years or so, they can come harvest one with their kids (we hope)

Lovely tree! I agree with you on growing the fingerlings. We will be planting some in the spring in an area a neighbor clear cut this fall. Washington has a very good reforestation program. It's a renewable resource, so I have no judgement of anyone who wants the smell of a fresh cut tree in their house. It's just hard for me to watch anything die before my eyes. I'm a wimp that way. :oops:
