My tree was up the day after Thanksgiving. But, we don't do cut trees and the last living tree we bought wasn't really alive. The sold it in a pot, but the roots were cut off.Anyone else have a tree yet?

Beautiful! My tree was up the day after Thanksgiving. But, we don't do cut trees and the last living tree we bought wasn't really alive. The sold it in a pot, but the roots were cut off.Living trees are expensive. So, last year we bit the bullet and bought a Balsam Hill tree. I don't have the heart to watch a tree die in my living room.
Here's mine.View attachment 1982415
Thanks!Beautiful!
Ahh...so sorry you have been sick.We really didn't mean to have fun without you!
Lovely tree! I agree with you on growing the fingerlings. We will be planting some in the spring in an area a neighbor clear cut this fall. Washington has a very good reforestation program. It's a renewable resource, so I have no judgement of anyone who wants the smell of a fresh cut tree in their house. It's just hard for me to watch anything die before my eyes. I'm a wimp that way.We also went with a balsam hill tree. Cutting our own became to big a challenge a few years back so we pushed the easy button. That said, the state foresty nursery sells fingerling trees to reforest after logging. A part of our land had been logged before we bought it. So our kids planted about 100 various Xmas trees so in 10 years or so, they can come harvest one with their kids (we hope)

Last two cookie varieties done!!! Lemon Linzers and Butterscotch. The butterscotch look rather boring, but they are not. They are bursting with flavor and smell heavenly! So, boring or not, I always include them.
