We do an artificial tree too. Partly because it can go up early and come down late. ...without becoming a fire hazard. Also because the branches are sturdy and can hold large and heavy ornaments. Gotta love that the lights are prestrung and wrapped deep into the branches. Then, too, I don't like to treat a tree as a disposable object.

We miss the intoxicating aroma of a real tree but feel good about the fact that we can use our tree for 10 years.

No presents yet. Santa will bring them.

My tree was up the day after Thanksgiving. But, we don't do cut trees and the last living tree we bought wasn't really alive. The sold it in a pot, but the roots were cut off. Living trees are expensive. So, last year we bit the bullet and bought a Balsam Hill tree. I don't have the heart to watch a tree die in my living room. Here's mine.View attachment 1982415

I'm waiting for cooler temps. Made dog biscuits today only because they were out - had all the ceiling fans on high and still sweating. They look a little yellow from the freshly grated tumeric. My fingers are much worse.

My hats off to you for cooking for your dogs!!!

We also went with a balsam hill tree. Cutting our own became to big a challenge a few years back so we pushed the easy button. That said, the state foresty nursery sells fingerling trees to reforest after logging. A part of our land had been logged before we bought it. So our kids planted about 100 various Xmas trees so in 10 years or so, they can come harvest one with their kids (we hope)

Agreed.
It's a very nice full tree.
And the ornaments are well placed! Ours is a little more open. Since we don't trim them at all and get them straight from the wild. And covered in really old ornaments. Probably some are vintage.
