What treat did your chickies get today?

Pics
Mine had a tomato, scratch, fresh grass, a few raspberries and blackberries that were left on my bushes and also some blueberries. They love them and are all usually standing around me making that sound they make when they want something. One of my Americanas flew onto my shoulder to get closer to the action.

I have a question. I know that chickens are suppose to get 12-14 hrs of light to continue laying and I was wondering if that extra light should be in the morning or at night? I've been leaving their heat lamp on for about 3 hours at night, but it messes up their roosting. I have 12 hens and 2 roos and 3 of the hens are finally laying and I want the others to start and the ones laying to continue. Can anyone help me with this one? Thanks a bunch.

grapes and rolled oats for my girlies today.

My 2 new additions are starting to warm up to me. They watch my BR Speckles like she lost her marbles when she runs up to me and coos to butter me up for the lions share of the treats, it's when her cooing gets results that they walk over when they think I am not looking.

Ha! Same with my younger Wellies! They think my RIR and EE are IDIOTS for coming anywhere near me....except...oh oh...they get treats!! And (gasp) those crazy two will even eat from my hand! Then the Wellies are so, so very interested. Just not enough to come near! Darn Chooks...

ericks1 Our chickens our enjoying the pumpkins we grew in our horse manure piles. The pumpkins are quite large and the chickens eat all of it!

Was wondering if anyone knows if its ok to feed your chickens Prawn shells . I was given a massive bag of Prawns and it seems a shame to thow away all the shells if they have any use for my girls?????? I know you can feed the some fish products????

my girls got shown the oven this morning, cause well they just wont lay!!!!!!!! Even though I showed them the oven they still think I am joking???

Ok I felt sorry for them and they got nice Bread and eggs and yogurt and all that kind of stuff. They even got some fresh grass and ate the rest of my Zuccinis that they found.
There were also some nice sprigs of Peas starting to grow again ( but its too cold for them to survive so the girls got to eat them up!)

My girls got the last of the volunteer cherry tomatoes that were growing in their old run! I figure they planted them, so they're entitled to eat them!
