What treat did your chickies get today?

I love this thread :)

My babies had yogurt and grapes for breakfast, and a few of the first asparagus from the garden after dinner - and as many worms from the garden as my 2 year old can find (today it was 2 for 6 chickens).

My babies had mixed frozen fruit that I defrosted. Boy, one would get a huge blackberry and play keep-a-way while the other chicks chased her! Very fun to watch! They also got a muffin in their treat ball. I'm thinking of keeping the berries frozen and just breaking them up a bit for when the Texas heat arrives. : )

Today my chickens got broccolli! They love greens.

Tomorrow I'll give them a "meal" of diced livers and bean sprouts.

I'm starting to feel bad though, I don't give my ducks treats at all.

Tomorrow I'll see if they like Bananas.

My work place has a TON of ripe bananas and since no one eats ripe bananas they saved them for me for my ducks.

Gave the chicks some kitchen scraps of asparagus stalks, strawberry tops and bananas slices.

The ducks got some lettuce (finally a treat they like!) and bean sprouts.

Mine have been eating Maple tree "helicopters", especially now that they've started sprouting. Much easier than trying to peck the seed out. I have piles of them under the trees - when I see them start to sprout, I toss in a double handful.

I love giving them things that would otherwise be considered waste. Or bad - like when I rake up the dried crabgrass areas. It's full of seeds, so I don't want to put it on the compost or garden, but it turns out chickens LOVE crabgrass seeds! It's a two-fer! feeds the chickens AND keeps much (I wish all) of the crabgrass out of my lawn. I even bagged up some, so I can give it to them later.

Every morning I give my Chickens a big bowl of a combination of canned corn, canned mixed vegetables, Boss, rice, oatmeal and scratch along with grapes, bread and one hotdog chopped up.

They don't seem to really eat chicken pellets. I wonder why
