What type of incubator to use?

So I’ve been out of the chick hatching game for several years. And I’ve moved a few times and gotten rid of my old stuff. What incubator do you prefer to use?

If you can afford a good one- Brinsea go for it, I decided to spend the money on one when I borrowed my friends, it was awesome hatch. I’ve considered an Incuview but at the last minute went for the good one. I wasn’t disappointed.

I was looking at the Brinsea at tractor supply. I’m just wanting to replenish my little flock with barnyard mix chicks since all of my hens have good temperaments therefore I don’t need something huge so I think I’ll be ordering it then

Check the TSC clearance section. People have been finding them there lately. At my TSC the Brinsea mini advance is $100 but someone else posted that they found one for $25.

That’s awesome I’ll have to check it out either tomorrow or Saturday. The wife and I are going to head a few counties over for a livestock auction so maybe I’ll stop at a few different tsc and check. I checked my local tsc online it says they have none available so maybe one of the others will

Whatever you buy though, make sure there is an automatic turner and automatic water feeder for humidity. A very reliable temp and humidity gauge in one machine takes off the extra work and headaches. I paid $289 for mine that only do 7 eggs, I wish I went bigger for extra $$ but I love the end results almost to 100% all the time.

I can vouch for brinsea. My octagon advance (no longer made) is a set it and basically leaving it device that produces a great hatch: duck, geese, chicken, guinea. Perhaps a used one from eBay? I'm fairly confident currently produced models from them will work just as well. I personally would never purchase one of those low priced China ones, but that's just me.

When I was a lot younger ( I don’t remember the brand name) but it was the starfoam ones I wasn’t having very much luck with it I got about a 20% hatch rate. So I’ve been doing my reading mainly on the Brisnea but I’ve also tried to research a little on some others.
