What's for Dinner?

the food is a bit uninspiring
What is that white stuff @SueT ? Funny seeing square bread served at something. The chicken looks tasty - was it spicy? I love the differences in different countries! American food has always interested me, we always hear so much about it! I've never visited although hope to one day!

My dh has been in Paris at his uncles funeral and is bringing my MIL home today. Need to decide what to do. Thinking a roast pork with rosemary adn garlic from the garden with herb potatoes and maybe a cauliflower gratin. Need to get the pork out of the freezer!

Ha yes it seems crazy that people still eat bread like that. This is small town Midwest, where a lot of people still live in the mid 20th century, lol. We didn't eat that bread, I also brought homemade carrot salad for me and my DH knowing we'd be short on veggies.. He grew up on this farm, we came back 12 yrs ago to care for his parents. They're gone now, and we plan to move to Oregon to be near our kids/grandkids...we shall see, maybe next year.
Good luck with your meal, be sure to take a pic!!!

Speaking of living in the past, our area has a lot of Amish people, including the farm next to ours on the north. They live much as they did in the 19th century, drive horse and buggy. (tho the more liberal groups like our neighbors use cell phones...and have lights on their buggies) They are a growing part of the community here.

And speaking of fair food, one of the favorites around here is Pineapple Whip, which is a frozen sweet delight...they didn't set up at this weeks' fair, but we found them at the big state fair....
It's mainly pineapple juice and sugar, I think.
