I was sent home last evening as the country warned them (city hall) that the roads were becoming treacherous and nothing they could do about it yet. I lived the furthest so I was let go first (poll worker). I don't pray often enough, but that was the worst 8 miles I've seen and I sure prayed. I made it to find the power was out and hubs had the chicks warm with the generator running.

Power was restored after only an hour, and everyone is great. We got about a foot of snow.

Now, it's snowing just a little and wind is down.

A major rain event will engulf most of eastern Australia during the next 48 hours, prompting the Bureau of Meteorology to issue flood watches from southern Queensland to the NSW South Coast.
