What's the weirdest mix you've had?

We had some interesting mixes in the first birds that were given by our neighbors.
These girls were Dominique/Buff

The rooster in the center left was Red's full brother. He was a beautiful bird, but he was MEAN so he went to freezer camp at 10 months. This is the only picture I have of him.

The birds below, we raised from our Doms and Dom Crosses using different roosters.
This was Gray Stuff. His father was a Leghorn cross (we don't know with what, but he had a few black feathers). His mother was a Dominique.

The girl in the next 3 pictures was a homemade New Hampshire/Dominique Black Sex Link. Unfortunately, she was killed in a barnyard accident at 4 months.

It's a shame the temperaments weren't better, because they sure are beautiful to look at!

here is a today's photo of the aforementioned NN x FBCM roo. He has a very scowly face but is a dear...so far. He's almost 5 months old and at the bottom of the roo pecking order despite his fierce look

I think so!
I'm actually starting to think about intentionally breeding these two again. The results are so interesting to look at and the best temperament of all the birds that I have.

Indeed. All those cockerels pictured have been sent to freezer camp and all the hens/pullets have moved on to new homes. I have a few mutts and EEs still, but I want o get down to my main breeds.

This is a Rhode Island Red hen brown Leghorn rooster cross. I wish I had some pullets from that cross, I bet they’d be pretty cool looking.

This is a red ranger hen crossed to a brown Leghorn rooster. I Imagine this is similar to what a RIR brown Leghorn cross would look like.

This is also a red ranger brown Leghorn cross.
