Whats with the pig pile I thought i got chickens?

My chickens live in an old converted shed. i have about twenty laying boxes and about 6foot of roosting space. That being said my mental mush chickens all pile/ roost in the door, even when closed.

here is the picture i hope you can help. as you can see they are different breeds raised together buffs, reds, and bard rocks,

How old?
What is the inside of the coop like?
Roosts? Roost height from the floor?
Any windows in the coop?

Just pick them up and place each on the roosting bar. Keep doing this. They'll catch on soon enough.
Or maybe they are enjoying prentending to be a Chicken Pyramid?

How many chickens do you have? Have they ever used the roost before or have you ever tried to train them to do so?

For training, it's as simple as going in once it's dark and picking each one up and putting them on a roost bar.

Is that picture of the inside of the coop, or is the inside on the coop the dark area thru the door?
Is it possible they can not see the roosts in the dark?
Are the roosts to high?
Maybe they need to be trained to roost as suggested.
