When did hens start keeping people?

Listen I just dont like being domesticated by a chicken. My wife will not allow me a duck. She must be smart is all I can say.

She is even though I have a perfect pond and loads of filtration and experience with marine aquariums she will not allow me to engineer a duck pond.

My guess is she saw that you were in need. Being a kind and caring individual she took you under her wing.

I am 50 years oldish. Never in my life have I heard of hens keeping people before. A summer or two ago an OEGB adopted our family. She is nice but fears us and seems to lay us eggs. With the other chickenkind on our property she is the queen.
I don't want to be domesticated, but this chicken is keeping us.

BEWARE OF CHICKEN MATH! Once a single chicken has you trained, they call all of their friends. Before you know it, your coop will be overflowing with chickens and you will be FORCED to build a bigger one ... and it never stops!

But I live in Australia and the chicken are on the move. For now, I'm hiding indoors but soon I must go hide in my office.
