Nice !! great colors !!! I have white ,light brown ,cream ,dark brown eggs but i dont have green/blue ...

The chocolate eggs are from our Marans of course, the light blue-green from our EE, the light pinkish brown are our Buff Orpington's, the large caramel ones from our Golden Buff/Sex-Link and the little white one on the lid is my husband's Silver Grey Dorking's. All our girls are from Meyer Hatchery. [/quote] Quoting myself because I don't think you can reply to an Ovation. Yes D'Angelo, our BCM is from Meyer Hatchery and she lays nice dark brown eggs. Not quite as dark as I've seen from some breeder lines but darker than I though they would be after all I had heard about hatchery Marans egg color. I was very pleasantly surprised, however I haven't gotten an egg from her in almost two months first it was a touch of frostbite at the end of November, then a cut on her comb she was healing from, then she sprained a leg and was depressed. Hopefully she picks up again in the spring, I miss her chocolate eggs! But yes I'm on the Meyer thread and most of the folks with BCMs have nice dark eggs, some may start out laying lighter and darken up. Some of the other Marans from Meyer like the white and cuckoo aren't as dark but I've seen some with nice speckles or a purple tint

So glad to have found your post. I have 2 brown leghorns (I think) and they are 26 weeks old and no eggs yet. I had been searching for someone with this breed to tell how old theirs were when they started laying. I still have hope now! this post was for KNelly.
