I just got 6 new chicks to add to my current flock of 5 ISA Browns. I was told that I was getting 2 Australorps, 2 Buff Orpintons and 2 White Rocks. However, when I got home and put them in the brooder I noticed that one of the White Rocks has fuzzy feet! The Town & Country that I got the from does carry a few fancy breeds, so I'm wondering if they put her in with the White Rocks in order to keep all chicks of a similar age together? Do White Rocks sometimes have fuzzy feet as chicks? Or could this be a fancy breed? [IMG][/IMG]

I just posted the same question about my fuzzy legged 'white rock'. Since yours has some color on the wings, I wonder if it could be a light Brahma?

Turns out mine is a hatchery oops/white rock mistake.

Looks like a possible Light Brahma to me; I can't quite make out her comb type.

Is it common for White Rocks to have black feathers?

No. My white rock is pure white. One that was supposed to be white but has a buff tinge turns out to be a hatchery goof.

Well, thank you. Mine are 6 weeks and have one or two black feathers in random places.

Looks like a it could be a light brahma to me. that's what mine looked like at that age. white rocks are grey when they are chicks. I don't think they have black on them.

These were pale yellow when they were born. [IMG]
