Whiting True Blue Chat Thread!

Babies!!! They arrived today. Six WTBs. I think there are some muffs here. Does anyone have guesses what they will look like feathered out?

Chipmunk stripes often mean patterns in grown hens (lacing, etc). The black will likely be black or blue. I'd guess the plain buff will be buff or wheaton. But I am not speaking as a WTB expert, just from general chicken breed observations.

Thanks for the thoughts.
Is there anyway to distinguish black from blue at this stage.
Also one of the yellow chicks has two black spots on her back. The other has peachy tips to her wing feathers.
I appreciate all info

Not that I know of? I think you have to wait a week for the first couple real feathers to pop out on wing tips. If they are black, likely black. If gray, likely blue.

The wing tips are probably the first real feathers growing in? So that would help indicate final wing color perhaps. No idea about the black dots...

I've had a few, got more in the brooder (McMurray) ... They're really too young to guess the coloring, best to wait until the wing feathers start coming out to guess what their coloring will be. The chimpmunk pattern turned out to be the first pic. The 2nd pic started off as dark blue/grey. 3rd pic is the WTBs with the WTGs ...
The WTG laid every day while the WTB sometimes skipped a day. The WTG are prone to be "red" in color ... they're the front right & back right. The Chipmuck is the front left & the blue is in front of the of the one on the right.

Sorry can't find their adult pics but the Chipmunk got alot more black to her and the Blue got bluer.

Updated pics at 2 weeks. I’m enjoying their spunk. Three seem very bright and learn quickly.
