who else has eggs cooking???

"Cooked" is the optimal word. I had a brief temp spike to 137 F on day two of incubation. It is now day seven and I am still holding out hope that some have survived.

I just put 37 eggs in my brand new Christmas gift--the HovaBator 1588 w/automatic turner! So pumped! 23 barnyard mixes of my own, 8 pure RIR from a friend, and another 6 barnyard mixes from another friend.

I am calling this my "trial run" and plan to sell off the babies ASAP, but it is REALLY fun having my first set of eggs to wait for!

I put them all in between 9am-noon this past Tuesday, so that doesn't actually count as day 1, right? So I'm on day 3 right now.
Fingers crossed!

Good luck, and congrats on the Christmas gift. Sounds like Santa is enabling you ;)

I keep promising to post pictures of the cemanis here and I keep forgetting to do it, so here's one of them nodding off:

I've also hatched a few crosses that are adorable. I have more eggs cooking away, and I'm about to put in 30 more quail eggs and two or three more cemani cross eggs, but then I have vowed I am done until the spring, which means I'll need to sell my eggs to resist the temptation, lol.

I just hatched 15 lil chicks and this lil ones legg has looked like this from day one he/she gimps around and i just feel so bad soAny advice on what i should do about this lil ones legg.

i'm on day 13-14 and dont know best to lockdown yet or not. i set 13 eggs and got 7 developed. not sure if they are still kickin because of temp and humidity swings....it's -9 outside. my temp was 100 all along. would that make an early hatch with coturnix?
my last chick hatched early at 99.7

Sunday was day 8. I candled them all to see who made it and who did not. I started with 49 eggs and 30 took. I have been enjoying watching the little babies swimming around in there for 3 days. That is so awesome. About 10 days to go. So excited. Working on my critter proof pen and run. Life is so awesome. (Especially if you have chickens)

Quick question--if I set my eggs on a Tuesday morning, I should take them out of the turner and lock-down on a Saturday morning, right? (that's day 18 for me, right?)

I have broken and got my incubator out again

Have set 14 polish eggs as a test batch from my own flock for the first time!! So excited to see what's going to happen with them as it's the unknown. Here are are a couple of pics.
